If You Are An Avid Reader Then An Electronic Reading Device Is For You
There are a lot of people out there for whom reading is perhaps more than just a passion. Not only do they spend a lot of time reading each day, they would also keep aside quite a sum of money each month for procuring new books. They would generally be seen carrying a backpack with them so that they always have plenty of things to read whenever they get the time. However, all of this is poised for a complete makeover, thanks to the advent of Electronic Readers – a cool new device that can well change traditional method of reading a book once and for all.
The electronic market is flush with some excellent electronic readers, though it is the Amazon Kindle that perhaps is the most sought after. Starting from the Kindle 2 that scores high on affordability and comes loaded with such brilliant features like built-in keyboard for notes and navigation, a fast processor, up to 2GB of internal memory that can store no less than 1500 e-books, adjustable font size, an improved battery life, built-in free wireless ‘Whispernet’ data network that makes it operable even without a PC, along with a whole host of other user friendly features.
Then there is the that is even more rich in features than the Kindle 2. This includes, 3.3GB of usable internal memory that is good enough to store 3500 e-books, native PDF support, ability to display image files, auto-rotating screen, a built-in dictionary, Text-to-Speech facility, to name just a few. Screen size increases too as you get about 2.5 times the screen real estate with Kindle DX in comparison to Kindle 2. This, without there being no appreciable increase in dimension or weight. So you can be sure to have an electronic reader that is compact enough for ease of carrying whenever you are on the move.
Another good thing with these electronic readers is their light weight, which is generally below 12 ounces. Just imagine what the combined weight of the thousands of books would be that each of these electronic readers is carrying. Their ability to increase font size is another big plus and will be liked the most by those who are visually impaired or by senior citizens who may have dimmed vision.
These sleek reading machines can be termed the next big thing to impact us after perhaps the iPod or the iPhone. Or maybe it’s even bigger than these. With its huge storage capacity, it can well be termed as a mobile library that you can carry along wherever you go. They have fairly long battery life as well, which can be up to about 2 weeks on a single charge.
So if you feel tempted to buy an electronic reading device, make sure you do a thorough research as regards the features that you wish to have and the price that that will let you have it all. You can also be at E-Reader Forum which is a good place to have all your queries cleared before you actually get into buying one.
Going through user reviews is another important thing that you should not miss out on as these will let you have a better understanding of the product that you wish to buy. They can be of a lot of help and will provide you with an insight as when a particular technology is nearing obsolescence or if a particular model is living up to the hype. Then you can also be at ereader blog if you wish to interact with experts on any topic that is of interest to you. This way, you can be sure to zero in on an electronic reader that is just right for you.

Is the Kindle reading device worth the money?
I’ve heard about the kindle how its a electronic reading device and you get books cheap and how you pretty much carry a book store in your bag but is it worth the $359.00. It looks really cool, and it looks small so can you actually see the font as well as you do in a regular book. And can you get all the books that are on amazon or is it a separate book store
It’s worth the money if you read a lot of books, and you can afford it. It’s not going to save you money. It’ll save trees, space, and headache. It’s also very, very cool. If you are a bibliophile, and you like having up to 200 books at your fingertips, it’s worth it.
I love my Kindle, and I’m glad I bought it. At first, I wasn’t sure if I made the right choice. But after a week, I knew I was in love.
On the Amazon website, you can “see a kindle near you” if you want to play with one before buying it.
And, to answer your question about getting books – you can only buy books from the Kindle store. There are a lot of books there, but not even close to all of them.
Also, don’t forget newspapers, magazines, and blogs. There are a lot of those. In fact, I would argue, that these are what really pays for the Kindle – having my paper/magazine/blog sent to me in an easy-to-read format, without ads.
